Internal error code 256 in daemon tools

I have installed windows xp on my system. Whenever i try to install daemon tools it gives an error message : "Internal Setup Error. Error code: 256. contact support". Do i need to change any registry setting?Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated.

Have you check the Daemon Tools setup? Did you download the correct version? Is it compatible with you windows xp version ( 32 or 64 bit).Daemon Tools v4 will support Windows XP x64. That basically means that it has to be rewritten from scratch.

Check system eventlog (run eventvwr.msc) regarding SPTD related error messages, If your setup is not complete and not all files were copied due to some crash or uninst.exe fails with some error message then just delete all files from the folder and install new one then try...
