    Wmp and Planned Tasks

    Hello,
For quite some time I have a concern with the task scheduler that gives me a message:

"The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with

it seems that the problem comes in the Task Scheduler:
    library planner
    -windows
    Media-center

when I click on this heading ,the above message resurfaced that there is no task for this file. Unable to delete file "message you must first remove any traces before you can delete this file. so my Question how can i solvw these problem , thanks in advance

    Hello,

    • On the right-click the subkey mcupdate -> Permissions
    • You click on the Advanced button -> Permissions tab
    • You click on Administrators, then click the Edit button
    • In the Permission Entry window for mcupdate you check the Full Control then OK
    • Then in the Owner tab, you click on Administrators in Select a new owner, then Apply
    • You close the Registry Editor and you restart your session.
    • You should now be able to remove the CLSID mcupdate

You can use the windows explorer to navigate to

    C:/Windows/System32/Tasks/Microsoft/Windows/Media Centre

and deleted mcupdate. deleteing this entry will delete the problem

    Re: Wmp and Planned Tasks

    1) you create a restore point manually

    2) in Start -> Run -> regedit you locate out the following key
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Schedule \ TaskCache \ Tree \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Media Center \ mcupdate

The variable Id contains the CLSID of the task is in the Data column
You notes as a whole, because we will find other entries
On the right-click on Id -> Delete

after that you can draw out the following entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Schedule \ TaskCache \ Plain \ You must find the CLSID that you noted
On the right-click on the CLSID -> Delete

after that you can also locaete the following entry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Schedule \ TaskCache \ Tasks \
You must find the CLSID that you noted
On the right-click on the CLSID -> Delete

You close the Registry Editor and you restart the PC.
    You test the Task Scheduler.
