I'm running Windows Xp as my operating system along with Exchange 2003 on my system. I would like to know that what is the maximum size limit for Exchange 2003 mailbox? With the increase in information store size in Exchange 2k3? Does any body have any idea about it? Kindly provide me the correct information on the above topic. You can define the mailbox size explicitly, I guess you have the ESM management tools installed on your xp client.

Re: Maximum Size limit for Exchange 2003 Mailbox

Exchange 2003 sets a default limit for incoming messages into your Exchange organization and a limit for outgoing messages. PST's on local systems in versions of Outlook previous to Outlook 2003 were limited to 2GB. You can set these limits in Exchange System Manager under Global Settings –-> Message Delivery –-> right click Properties and select the Defaults register.

Re: Maximum Size limit for Exchange 2003 Mailbox

It is possible to set a message size limit for individual mailboxes. If you are taking about a maximum database size, it depends on the version of Exchange you are using. Each default mailbox inherits the message size limit from the mailbox store. Exchange 2003 Standard SP2 is increased from 16GB to 75GB. 18GB is the default.

Re: Maximum Size limit for Exchange 2003 Mailbox

Underneath First Storage Group in ESM, Right click the mailbox store, Properties, then use the Limits tab. When the mailbox store database in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition reaches the 16-gigabyte (GB) size limit, the mailbox store does not mount. For the Standard Edition, the default configured database size limit will now be 18 GB, a 2 GB addition to the previous limit, with a new maximum size of 75 GB.
