Windows Live Messenger 2009 WEBCAM not working

Hello everyone,

My webcam wrorks fine with Skype/yahoo.
It is configured correctly with Live Messenger - i..e I am able to see myself in the lilttle window.

However, when I try to video call, the advertisements keep on running and nothing happens.. although i can see myself inthe window.

I changed the personal settings to ENABLE OTHERS TO SEE MY CAM.

May be your internet connection is a bit slow and it is not able to connect to the server. Try to run internet connection speed test ...

I believe it should have something to do with either some of the pre-installed software/driver or the build-in webcam on your laptop. For that you just need to reinstall the drivers and then just need to upgrade them. Then you need to make sure on MSN that your preferences should need to have a webcam set up.

I'm used to have this problem. Somebody can't find McAfee and I too. I think that this problem about systme from msn. So, I repain my msn (control panel > add or remove program > select program msn > repain) then restare. after I restare my computer and sing-in my webcam can use again ^u^

I have a weird problem too. I have re-installed Messenger 2009 several times. I can see my video in Audio and Video Setup, but when I go to chat, it says I have no cam. Everything else seems normal, just won't recognise that I have a properly installed cam.

Compatibility, everything worked fine before, same equipment. Had a bad virus so we wiped the hard drive, re-installed XP-Pro and then I downloaded Messenger 2009.

I think there is some issue with your webcam, in that case i would recommend you to check it on another system, if it works fine then in try to download and install latest version of Windows Live Messenger.

yes I did all that. everything worked fine 2 days ago, then the virus attacked. now everything is clean. If there was a problem with the cam, then why would it work fine in tools/audio video setup?
