For example, you should go to format cells, number tab, custom and data fit into the "type" ###-#######-##, in this line you will have more to type the number without dashes, they'll automatically save. |

Defining cell names in Excel is done by highlighting the cell, going to insert on the menu and selecting name and define. Cell is formatted as number. There is no formula applied to the cell(s).Go to the Format Menu and select Cells. Click on the Number tab and select Custom from the list. You can see all the different custom formats Excel offers. |

Open Microsoft Excel 2003, then open the file you want to change. Select the cells you want to format.Open the Format menu and select Cells.Click the Number tab.Select a format type from the Category list. For example, for items in a budget, select Currency or Accounting. |
