How to conver flv files for Sony vegas

Last night one of my friend gave me a video file. I tried to load it into Sony Vegas, but unfortunately my Sony Vegas showed me an error message that it cannot recognize the file. The file is in .flv. How can i convert my video file in to sony vegas flv file? Has any body done this before? Let me know the correct solution for the above issue.

It might be possible that you may have got a corrupted video file from your friend. FLV uses Sorenson spark which is different to the regular Sorenson codecs. Try to convert your video file in to another file format.
