Creating Torn Paper in Photoshop

I have P4 machine on which i had installed Windows Xp. I would like to know about torn paper in Photoshop. Can any body tell me that how can i create a torn paper in Photoshop? Any body have any idea about it? Let me know the correct solution for the above issue.

Torn paper is one of the key elements to achieving the distressed / collage look. Add a 2 pixel stroke to this selection. Use the rectangular marquee to select the right half of the canvas and add a 2 pixel stroke to it. 10. Use the magic wand to select the white area with contiguous unchecked. Hit your backspace key.

Start with your blank document in Adobe Photoshop, use the Lasso Tool freehand to create the outline of the torn edge and continue the selection across the lower half of the document. Complete the circle by continuing outside of the object until you join with the beginning and the area is selected. Select an appropriate color for your paper and fill the selection on a new layer.

If you want to, tear an actual piece of paper and look at it magnified, or at least very closely, at the way the fibres lie. With the Lasso Tool still selected, Right Click (CMD-Click) on the mask and select Make Work Path from the menu. Change the tolerance to 1px to keep the path close to the original mask.
