microsoft flight simulator WWII Europe Series

We were given a new CD for the PC game Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator WWII Europe series for our son. The game loads fine on our Windows Vista 64-bit home version. The problem is with the joystick. In the game we have calibrated the joystick and it shows that it is working, but when you get to the actual game play, nothing on the joystick works. Have tried contactiing Microsoft and Atari without any luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? We have uninstalled and reinstalled both as administrators and have changed the compatibility to Windows XP-32.

Try another Joystick. Just in case if its not working. For me this seems to be the communication problem between the hardware & the OS or the game. Please check for the manual.
