Retrieve data from Access 2007 to Excel 2007

Hi,

I want to retrieve data from Access 2007 to Microsoft Excel 2007 with shared data access. I'll pick regularly data from Access 2007 to Excel 2007 with the "Get external data from Access." It also works fine, but it is pretty rusty, if there are multiple users in Access database, I can not be allowed or if I download data in Excel file so that other users are not allowed to go into the database. The database is designed for multiple users. It seems as if Excel to retrieve data via an undivided data connection. The data retrieved from Access is a question. Is there anyone who can help?

If i am not wrong, you download all data from the database. Regardless of how many users can access one database at a time, so data will always be locked while in use. Therefore you can not retrieve data from the database, while having other users on it. When users can usually be more people working or looking in the database, so it can only do so because they do not work in the same data.

You can use Excel 2007 functions directly from Access 2007 by using Automation; you send a request to Excel to perform a calculation with a built-in function and then to return a value to your Access application. See here for more details on this.

I can not get into the database from Excel if there is already a user to log into the database. when i try to access i get this message "You tried to open a database is opened by user 'XX' on machine 'servername'. Try again when the database is unavailable"
