Windows live messenger won't add contacts

i have downloaded latest version of Windows Live as it was continuous prompting me to get updated version but now it won't allowing me to add any contacts, i am trying to add my old contact but nothing works . can any one tell me how to solve this ?

how to add a Windows Live contact:

1. Click Add a Contact at the bottom of the Messenger window, or click Contacts and select Add a contact.
2. Enter the Windows Live email address for the contact and under "Network," select Windows Live (MSN).
3. Click Next.
4. Select the group you'd like to add this contact to. "Friends" (the default) adds the name to your main Messenger List. You can add a message if you like, so they'll know who you are.
5. Click Finish.

The contact is automatically notified and given the option to allow or deny your add request. If the contact denies your request, they won't appear in your Messenger List.

Use MYUNINSTALLER it is alternative to Add/Remove module of Windows operating system, uninstall Windows live messenger also use cc cleaner to clean registry then reinstall Windows live messenger again with latest version. an try

By default, Messenger will show all contacts in your contact list online or offline, as well as groups.so importing not working then try to get your online contacts

• click the contact list layout button next to the add contact button in Messenger
• Layout options for your contact list will appear

Nobody really understood the problem, but everyone copy-pasted an answer without any consideration or asking for clarification. The OP was admittedly incoherent but still here's his problem:

When he adds an old contact, it says they have been.

When he adds a new contact, it says they will be added when they confirm.

In both cases, when they message him it says "they are not in your contacts list" and gives a tooltip link to add them, and this link does not work.
