Problems with XP

I have a dell instiron 1545 originaly with windows vista home basic 32bit.
I reinstalled the pc to windows xp and two days ago while playing counter strike the screen froze. When i restart the system when windows tries to load the xp logo comes up and then a blue screen appears. I have no idea what to do as when i try to reinstall xp again once it gets to the point of "starting windows" after the boot sequence has started the same blue screen apears

Please help.

I don't know exactly what kind of blue screen error you have, but you can try this:

the problem is due to your hardware failure first check that your harddisk for bad sector for that you can use HDDregenrator application.if harddisk is fine then you can check for Ram and motherboard else contact manufacturer

Thanks for the ideas guys... the problem was with the OS. not quite sure why or what but i just reinstalled vista and now all is well.

Thanks for the other answer first. In your system, have some window registry errors files. So it's compulsory to fix these errors. Other wise your system will be corrupt. So you can download registry easy to repair registry errors and make your PC easily errors free.
