    How to run a non-windows application using gpedit.msc?

    PLs. help me to be able to run a non-windows application using gpedit.msc. Our company is using an old dos based system for our accounting dept. and I only want to allow a certain applications to be use by the users like MS Office applications, Lotus Notes.exe. But when I try to also list our dos based executable application over Gpedit.msc "Run only allowed applications....." The windows is not allowing the said dos based application. Plss help me Ty

    Old DOS based programs are 16-bit in nature. You won't be able to use those programs on Windows XP and later operating systems. To use the old DOS programs you can use softwares like DOSBox. It is a free software which lets you run the old programs on windows natively. Hope this helps.

    dosbox makes my dosbased program to run. thanks. but there are some errors on our database when I used dosBOX. The programmer use foxpro for dos for our database.

    I am not too familiar with connectivity on dosbox. The thing is, DosBox creates a vitual DOS environment. As it is an environment which is virtual, you database is not connected to it. But there are stuffs that work. You can check dosbox's wesite for more info...
