| Re: Need FM Server 5.5
The FileMaker Server Open Database dialog box will now handle non-Western file names. To work with Windows XP, I don't know if any major changes, certainly none worth paying 4 times the cost.To work with Mac, well, Server 5.0 is not OS X Native and it is not possible with the Classic environment either, if I remember. So Server 5.5 is needed unless you have a Mac old enough to boot MacOS 9 (or 8). |

FileMaker Server promise you the ability to automatically update and give plug-ins to clients across the network. One update of a plug-in on the server updates all clients of a FileMaker solution. Administrators will also appreciate the cross-platform support for TCP/IP, which reduces deployment for Windows, Mac OS, and Mac OS X workgroup guests.I have find out Found out FMConnector, and we can use that along with FileMaker's web companion to replicate data to SQL Server. Not confident regarding the inner workings, but it does work.eBay sometimes would have with them. |
