| Webcam in Messenger Live I am running Windows Vista and Windows Live Messenger 14.0.8046.206. I am experiencing webcam related problems. I have tried using 2 webcams, both with the exact same results. First, both are being recognised by the machine, and the software, to the point where using the 'audio/video setup' in messenger allows me to see and hear myself in the pop up window. Also, both the cams allow for snapshots and video to be taken using their own proprietary software. The problem is that when chatting to someone on messenger the 'show my webcam' option is greyed out. And I cannot seem to discover the reason why. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Messenger, both cams and related software. But it has absolutely no effect. So, any ideas? Why is this affecting both cams? What is the solution? |

What you need to do is to run Windows Live Messenger 2009 and sign in as usual. Once you’re signed in, click the small button on the top right, select File > Sign Out. When you’ve successfully signed out, sign in again. Weirdly that will enable the show my webcam option.
