| Vista MCE update KB959772 problem
I had recently download Windows update KB959772. Now Windows is prompting me to install the update. First when I installed it then it comes to 100% and then stuck. I restarted the system. The message came up denoting that the update fail. Now I read that this update makes Media play the the disc which are protect by Microsoft Windows Media Digital Rights Manager. Is this update necessary. I already had a extender attached to my Media Center pc. Thanks in advance. |

Click on the below link and download a fresh copy of it. First remove the update from Control panel > add & remove program. It is possible that the update is corrupted or broken. It is not downloaded properly. So a fresh copy will fix the problem. The update is for Media player which is not able to read the content protected by Digital Right Manager in Windows Media center pc. After the update the player will read all the protected content. | Re: Vista MCE update KB959772 problem
First I will recommend you to upgrade your Media player. Download and install Media player 11. The update is designed to automatically correct a error which is caused by DRM protection service. The DRM protection protect a content which needs a license update to get displayed on the screen. So if you do not have a this update on your Media center then your player will not read the copyright protected movie disc. Anyhow your extender will do but still it can give you problem. So it is recommended to download it and install it. |

| Re: Vista MCE update KB959772 problem
The update fails due to bad BTS services. BTS is background intelligent transfer service which is a windows service that is used to download and install current windows update and also look out for future updates. There is a update available on Microsoft site to fix this problem. You will have to download and install a BTS related update. The update will repair the BTS service and then after that only the updates can work. |
