Function Keys won't work

I'm using a laptop with Windows XP. Recently, my Fn keys stopped working. But, it's only the brightness and volume keys. They've worked fine before so I don't know what happened. I already tried downloading a driver but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

See if your keyboard has an F-Lock key. It is on the tops of the area of the keyboard in the general area of the Function keys : see this thread for more help : Keyboard shortcuts & Function keys don't work
