How to use Combofix.exe?

Hi, i got combofix.exe from one of the my friend and he sugessted it good to clean pc errors. Just starting to clean the computer but i can't understand which options to choose and which to not. There are many options. I hope some one can give me shirt tip about it....

Its quite easy to use the combofix, you can read the help guide comes with the combofix. A short explanation of using Combofix: ComboFix will disconnect your Windows PC from the Internet and then start scanning your PC for malware infections. The tool will also change your time format during scanning. All these changes will be restored after the scan is complete. You can go through various changes of the scan by reading the changes in the ComboFix window. After the scan is complete, a log report of the scan is prepared. Remember to not do anything on the PC while the process is running. The log is saved in the C:\ComboFix.txt file. ComboFix.exe reset some of windows xp settings. Like

• Notepad "Word Wrap" option reset
• Windows Firewall enabled in Services after it was turned off
• Internet Explorer Home Tabs removed
• System Restore enabled after it was disabled previously
• Desktop Icons that had been removed were restored
