Which programs can play WMV video

I have some Video clips in WMV format. When i am trying to play them with Windows Media Player on my XP system, it just won't play. It is really surprising for me that WMP is unable to play WMV. I just wanted to know is there any other program that can play these WMV ? Please help

You can easily play the WMV on your Windows Media Player. If you are unable to play than you must need to update to the latest version of Windows media player. Because they need a codec to play WMV files and in the latest WMP already has the codec required to view video and audio files.

You can also try Abdio Free WMV Player that is a free standalone application to play WMV Video files with. This utility can come in handy when viewing many WMV files, as it doesn't require the other IDE.All you need to do is to simply select your WMV video file and press the Play button!

Alternatively, VLC player is the best i can suggest you. It is the one that plays almost all formats of audio and video for Windows and MAC.
