How to Convert DTS to AC3 format

Hello,

I have a mkv video but the audio track is DTS. So I have no sound when I read it on my deck. I know how to do everything except the conversion part, i have searched the forum and the internet and i cant get any tutorial that help me. i am running Windows XP.

You must proceed in this way: for that you must use software called mkvtoolnix

1 - Extract the audio track with mkvtoolnix (with a dts)
2 - Extracting video track always mkvtoolnix (keeping the extension mkv)
3 - Convert DTS audio track in AC3 with Eac3to
4 - Remix the AC3 audio and video with MKV , get a video ts consistent with freebox

You have a mkv with DTS soundtrack and you can not then read this little tutorial is for you.

First step: extract the DTS soundtrack to convert.
1. Start Program mkvextractgui.exe "(must be in the directory mkvmerge)
2. Click on the button (with 3 small points) on the right of the "Input" to open your mkv
which is in dts
3. Coaches in the "Content" the track (in English Track) from the soundtrack
4. Then click on "extraction", it will extract into the directory of the default mkv
Second stage: the conversion

• 1 runs the program "eac3togui.exe"
• 2 to the right of the "source file" click on "browse" and will seek your soundtrack dts extracted.
• 3 Then click on "convert", the shell opens and converts, that it is done.

Convert E-AC3 and TrueHD audio tracks to AC3 or FLAC. eac3to was designed to convert E-AC3 and TrueHD audio tracks to AC3 or FLAC. TrueHD conversion unfortunately doesn't work with demuxed TrueHD files at this point in time. The to-be-converted TrueHD track must the first (or better: only) audio track in an EVO file. Please use the EvoDemux tool to create one EVO file for a full movie with only the TrueHD audio track in it.
