How to Install media player 9 on 98 first edition

Hello , I am on windows 98 1st edition and I am looking for a media player to listen my mp3 and movies , I want to install the windows media player 9 or classic media player , but i cannot take risk , as i heard it there is incompatibility between the os and media player , can you tell me it is possible to install the wmp 9 or classic media player on windows 98 first edtion , please help me thanks in advance

you may needed to update to Se Edition to install the wmp , just in case , Save your personal data (eg my documents) on your D: \ drive ,and Disable your anti-virus and your firewall. place the Win98SE CD in cd-rom. It should start on its own. Follow the instructions. Normally it asks if you want to repair Windows, install a second Windows or reinstall Windows. You can try to repair. Otherwise reinstalls on the same partition.

and Get yourself the WMP9 for win 98 and install it! Or take the Windows Media Player 6.4. WMP7 is suitable for Windows ME,

But Win 98 1st edition has some old windows problem! It manages memory very badly so you you better have to find win 98 SE and install it
