Winrar - CRC failed error

Hello, I'm in troble here and really need your help. I have downloaded the rar file from net and using the winrar to extract that file, but while extracting everytime i gets the error "crc failed in filename.The file is corrupt." I have downloaded the same file multiple times but happening same all time. Please show me the way to get rid of this error.

It happens if the file content is corrupt. Archive may be damaged after creation. In this case it is sometimes possible to repair it if it has the recovery record. It also could have been broken while creating, due to hardware failures (usually caused by an over-clocked CPU or unreliable memory). In the latter case the recovery record will not help. The only way to detect if the repair will help is to try to apply the repair command to the archive and test the results.Check, if you have installed the recent version.

First Test your RAM with memtest utility . I think you have downloaded a currupted rar file or you have not downloaded the complete file. It also happens because of your antivirus application, disable the antivirus for a while if you have installed any and also try installing WinRAR again. And see if other zip softwares helps you, try the 7zip.

Doesn't winrar come up with a message telling you which of the archive parts is corrupted? Local files might get corrupted because you move them around alot on a bad fs (eg. fat32), or you've overclocked your processor and the ide channel can't handle it anymore. You could try application like Rar Repair, but it's highly unlikely that you will be able to repair the archive back to a usable state. Rar Repair Tool specifically developed to recover rar files from damage.
