Download WTV codec for Windows Media Player

Hi,
I was just wondering the Microsoft would released a codec to play the DVR-Ms file format in windows media player. The media center is used by most of the user and it is very common also. So it is really hard to view and transfer a DVR-Ms type file format. As the file can also be viewed in Movie Maker which can add up a editing performance. Does anyone has a wtv codec and wmv codec. If yes please send the link for the same. Thanks in advance.

WMV is a very common codec available on internet. It is released by multiple sites and available for free download. Download it but I am not sure that it will work or not. But in case of wtv I am not sure about that. Download the Klite Codec pack, XviD and DivX codecs. Install them and try the same. But in case of DVR-MS you will need a converter to work with the same.

This is a bug actually. There is not codec for it right now. The WTV format is not entirely supported by the VISTA and it is still under construction. First of all Windows Movie Maker does not support it. So if you try to play it then it will not work and it is waste of your time. The best option will be to search on Microsoft Site. Hopefully there can be more new updates for the same.

Try to download Nvidia PureVideo Decoder. It has some inbuilt library of codecs which can give you a conversion plus viewable feature for multiple formats. It easily transcode any type of DVR-MS file with AC3 audio sound quality. After that it can be played on multiple players and disc. Even on Windows Media Player.
