Re: How to Reinstall/Repair Windows Movie Maker

Supported formats for importing content
  • Video files: .asf, .avi, .wmv
  • Movie files: MPEG1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2
  • Audio files: .wav, .snd, .au, .aif, .aifc, .aiff
  • Windows Media files: .asf, .wm, .wma, .wmv
  • Still images: .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .jfif, .gif
  • MP3 format audio: .mp3

Although you can play a file in Microsoft Windows Media Player, you may not be able to import the file into Windows Movie Maker even though this article lists that kind of file. You may not be able to import the file if the codec that was used to encode the audio or video is not a codec that is included with Windows XP. In that case, you may be able to re-encode the video or audio by using Windows Media Encoder, and then import the video or audio.

How to Reinstall/Repair Windows Movie Maker , copy and paste all the program files in C:\Program Files\Movie Maker and paste it on yours from another PC running XP, Reinstall Service Pack 2, it takes a little time, but sure that Windows Movie Maker finds its video effects and transitions missing.

Re: How to Reinstall/Repair Windows Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker 2 is an excellent video editing software for those who want to create just a few mouse clicks, videos of family while enjoying advanced functions such as titling, transitions, video effects. Moreover the Windows Movie Maker 2 is free for users of Windows XP. So why deprive ourselves?

download From Here and reinstall the Software
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...viemaker2.mspx

also try this solution Click Start , click Run , and then type the following command: %systemroot%\inf

NOTE : There are no spaces at all in the preceding command line.

Click OK to open the INF folder. Locate the file moviemk.inf , Right-click the file, and then click Install , You will be asked to place your windows XP cd rom in the drive.
