Hey,

I don't get your problem. If you have Microsoft excel installed then just go to file save as & type the name you want for the file & save it.
Excel always save files in .xls format only. What is your exact problem?
Which version of Ms Office is installed on your system? Is it 2000, 2003 or 2007?

I think your problem is conversion from xlsx to xls format.

Xlsx format is a format of Microsoft Excel 2007 that is not compatible with older versions. Fortunately, there are alternatives to converting a document from Excel 2007 in an older version of the Microsoft Excel. I prefer the online way but there is also a compatibility pack for MS Office that does the trick. The format is currently not supported by GMail attachment viewer or any agency online series as Google Doc. Therefore you have no choice but to put it in an old format. Convert Xlsx in the traditional .Xls format easily convert using the compatibility pack for Microsoft Office.

Thanks for the quick response I was really looking for the same thing. Sorry for not clearly asking the question.
Ill try the compatibility pack from Microsoft for Ms Office.
I hope it will enable me to open 2007 files in 2000 office. Thanks.
