To edit items in your Internet Explorer toolbar you need to remove this registry entry

go to start > Run > Regedit

Delete keys in these possible locations are:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt

ToolbarCop is a browser extensions manager which can disable or eliminate the following browser add-ons selectively from Internet Explorer:feature

    • Browser Helper Objects (BHO)
    • Toolbars
    • Standard Toolbar buttons
    • Context menu Extensions
    • Download managers
    • Protocol Handlers
    • Horizontal / Vertical Explorer Bars (side-search bars)
    • Startup applications originating from RUN registry keys.

    2. To add a toolbar, click to select the appropriate check box in the Toolbar area, and then click OK. To remove a toolbar, click to clear the appropriate check box in the Toolbar area, and then click OK.
