Spreadsheets do not Load

My Excel Spreadsheets (.xls) do not open when I double click on them. The MS Excel 2003 gets invoked but does not load the spreadsheet. Only way to load them is from File-Open menu. I fact I am stranded with ONLY this method to open any of my spreadsheets. Kindly advise.

re: microsoft excel help

You can try a Detect and Repair option to fix the issue. Go to Help Menu and lcick on Detect and Repair. In the dialog box try to run a automatically find and fix errors. If you want then you tick on Restore my shortcuts while repairing or Discard my customized settings and restore default settings. This option will be proper. Then click on start and run it.

Micrsoft excel help

Try to open the same file on another computer and if you are facing the same issue then it seems that your file has being corrupted because of which you are facing this issue in that case you need to repair your excel file by using some repair tool which would allow you to recovery your file.

Re: microsoft excel help

My spreadsheets files are not corrupted as they all open from File-Open menu.
So the problem lies elsewhere.
