How to make .r01

i have downloaded rar files from internet several times which ofers large file in part can any one tell me how to create this part like .r01 and continue which application is used for that ?

Winrar is a powerful compressing software so you can use it to compress your file, you can set the volume size in the archive name and parameters dialog box in Split to volumes field . where this option you can see in general tab to create volumes multi part archives .

7-Zip is good and have much better file support but i think winrar is best because of its simplicity and most file compresion is come with .rar extension so better to use winrar.
