Unable to protect document in Word 2007

I am creating a document in Word 2007 which contains very important data in it. Early i was able to use protect and unprotect the document for a couple of times , but now then option Yes, start enforcing protection has become grayed out. The only thing I am aware of that I was doing differently just before noticing the problem was trying to add an Active X text box and Option button to the document. I deleted these, and then noticed that I could no longer protect the document. Ideas?

If you want to have a word document as password protected then you need to need to click on Review, then go to Protect Document in the ribbon menu to enter the appropriate area for the assignment of passwords for editing. It also appears that users have more choices with in Word 2007 compared to previous versions as to the type of editing to protect.

To enable your protect document in Word 2007 you can do it by using ActiveX controls which will force your document into Design Mode, on the Developer tab you will see Design Mode button click over it to turn off the setting. Then you should be able to enforce protection again. Try to do it hope this should work for you.
