Outlook 2007 delete emails on server

I am using Outlook 2007 , today when i clicked on send/receive button i saw that my mail was trying to download 5000 emails in my outlook out of which 3000 emails are waste for me and i have already deleted those emails but still i am receive those emails when i click on send/receive button each and every time it upload those 5000 emails. Is there any way where i can delete those emails from server.

I don't think so there is such option in Outlook 2007 where you can delete emails from servers. I think such kind of option was available in Outlook 2000 not in Outlook 2007 for that i login in my msn.com and deleted all the unwanted emails from there you can also do it same as of mine. In that case it might happen that you need to reconfigure your Outlook once again.

I am also facing issue with my Outlook 2007 but in my case i want to leave a copy of my message to the server is it possible to do that, i had asked my friends about the same they told me that it's really possible but they don't know what steps are to be followed for it at the same time i try to find it over internet but was not able to get any proper solution for it. Hope i will get right solution over here.

If you want to leave a copy of your mails messages on your server then you need to follow the below steps:-

1. Open outlook 2007
2. Goto Tools and then Account Settings
3. Over here choose your account and hit change
4. At the bottom right you'll see more settings" have a click on that
5. Then go to the Advanced tab and you'll see leave a copy of messages on the server check on that and click OK.
6. Finally reboot your computer for changes to get effected.

It use to be there under Advance Tab. I checked it on my Outlook 2007 and here is the screen shot. hope it will helps you:
