rt73.sys file missing

I have a Belkin network adapter F5D7050B and on installation it always ask for a file called rt73.sys which is there in the installation cd and also in the drive but as soon as I direct it to that path, windows says that it cannot find the file. So can anyone help me to sort this rt73.sys file missing problem? Thank you

During the hardware installation of your F5D7050 version 3 Wireless G USB Adapter if you receive a message requesting the driver RT73.sys/.inf then point the wizard at the following location.

"C:\Program Files\Belkin\Belkin Wireless Network Utility"

The hardware installation wizard should locate the driver and complete the installation of the adapter.

In relation to the RALINK download: -
Seeing as the original driver *.inf files (either the rt73 or the 2500) usually have a similar *.sys file (i.e rt73.inf and rt73.sys), I tried replacing the rt73.sys (in my case) file located in the C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\Drivers folder with the one from the RALINK installation.

This works and has now enabled the packets sent to be updated and work, and also the adaptor now kicks in when you do a soft restart.

I have the same problem with my reinstallation of the adapter software. Windows asks for rt73.sys. It's there, but Windows won't 'see' it. I can't use any of the cites that want to scan my PC for what is missing and then go online to find it. I can't get online without this. Isn't there a way to just download the specific files.
