Cannot play dvd in real player

HI,
I have windows XP running on my desktop PC. I bought a new DVD recently. When i try to play it on real player, i get the following error: "The DVD cannot be played. Key exchange for DVD copy protection failed." What is it all about? Anyone have any idea?

It is possible that your dvd is not working properly. Check your dvd in another dvd drive or in dvd player. Also test your dvd drive with another dvds. Check updates the driver for the dvd drive.

There are many dvd playing softwares like WinDVD or PowerDVD. Real player and windows media player require a third party codec to be installed to play DVDs. There is VLC media player which plays all the format of audio and video files. I think vlc is the best player which plays any media type file.

You need to install a dvd software that came with your dvd drive. If it is already install, you need updates or try to reinstall it. Also update your decoder software. Confirm that your video card and sound card support DVD protection.If you have installed any program or software related to decoding or playback, then try disabling it temporarily.
