Can i transfer favorites of internet explorer 7 to internet explorer 8

Hi,
I have windows Vista running on my desktop computer. I decided to upgrade from internet explorer 7 to internet explorer 8. I have many favorite links saved in IE7 as bookmarks. Can i transfer these favorites from IE7 to IE8? Any idea?

Yes you can transfer your favorites pages from internet explorer 7 to 8. You can do it fro import and export wizard. There is a nice explanation of How to import and export the Internet Explorer Favorites folder to a 32-bit version of Windows in Microsoft's KB article. You need to export all the favorites to Netscape Bookmark.htm file to transfer the Favorites.

I had very bad experience with import and export of internet explorer favorites. So i suggest you to take a proper backup of your favorites folder. There is a very interesting information available from Microsoft on Import or export favorites in Internet Explorer. You must go through this page before tranfering your favorites or you may end up with nothing. Good luck!
