    drive c unavailable

Recently was zapped with anti spy malware. After removing the infected registry keys system is back up in order and no longer having any signs of this nasty malware. However when I try to defrag thru drive C I get an error message "disc fragmenter could not start" - when I try and defrag thru Norton I get error message "drive c unavailable". Not have any other issues accessing anything in the drive. Any thoughts?

Refer to following threads with similar issue:

    Hope this helps.

    Re: drive c unavailable

When you are getting the "drive c unavailable" under Norton, was Windows Defragmenter closed or was the window opened but the process was stopped? Because I think you might be using both the defragmenter at the same time and so you got that error message. Exit from the running application and then start the other. Also it is recommended that you close all of the other applications that might be using your hard drive and then perform the defragment operation.
