Photoshop CS4 crashes on loading preferences

Hi,

I suffer at least one crash a day as the title say's photoshop CS4 crashes on loading preferences on my Windows Xp, sometimes three or four, and Photoshop isn't even my primary work application. For some reason both the 32 bit and 64 bit version of CS4 fails to load. I get a "Photoshop CS4 has stopped working" message whenever I tried to launch it. I have tried the following fixes but they didnt work.

Unless you use Version Cue, the easy fix is simply to disable Version Cue in the Photoshop CS4 Preferences dialogue. Re-create the Photoshop preferences file to eliminate problems that a damaged preferences file might cause. There is better software for versioning and workflow.

Simply unchecked the 'Enable Version Cue' option in the preferences and no more problems whatsoever! Simply go to Photoshop Preferences > Performance and uncheck Enable OpenGL Drawing checkbox. Then Restart your computer.

Make sure that the system meets the minimum requirements for Photoshop CS4. Photoshop CS4 may not run correctly on a system that doesn't meet the following requirements:

* PowerPC G5 or multicore Intel processor
* Mac OS X v10.4.1110.5.4
* 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
* 2GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on flash-based storage devices)
* DVD-ROM drive
* 1,024x768 display (1,280x800 recommended) with 16-bit video card
* Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
* QuickTime 7.2 software required for multimedia features

Are you using cracked/patched Photoshop ? Crashes are known as a result of stupid cracks also.
