Re: How to integrate PowerArchiver entry into file context menu

First you need to download PowerArchiver from www.powerarchiver.com and install it in your computer.
  • Open PowerArchiver
  • Go to Options >> Configuration.
  • Open the Shell Extensions tab.
  • Here, You can customize the context menus according to your preferences.
  • You will find a tab for both compression and extraction functions, the context menus are different depending on whether you're clicking on an archive or an uncompressed regular file.

To remove PowerArchiver option from your context menu, you need to use Remove button for removing options that are currently existing in your context menu. You can then add them again under the PowerArchiver 2009 submenu by using the Add Submenu button.

This is really easy......

Re: How to integrate PowerArchiver entry into file context menu

I used to perform following simple methods for adding and removing items or options under context menu..

For adding an item :
  • Open regedit and expand "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" key.
  • Check for the filetype which you want to add in "New" menu. For e.g. for adding mp3 filetype, look for .mp3 key.
  • Right-click on it and select "New >> Key" and name it "ShellNew".
  • In right-side pane, right-click and select "New >> String Value". Name it "NullFile" and press Enter.

For removing an item :
  • Open regedit and expand "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" key.
  • Check for the filetype which you want to remove from "New" menu. For e.g. for removing mp3 filetype, look for .mp3 key.
  • Expand it and delete the "ShellNew" key.
