You have to configure the iso file while creating CD Drive component in your VMware virtual machine . That means you can configure the iso file and CD/DVD drive and it will be automatically shown as CD drive in your virtual machine.
You can mount the ISO file in few easy steps as mentioned below:
- In VMware in existing Virtual Machine double-click on the CD-ROM drive Or go to VM -> Settings and click on CD/DVD drive.
- In "Connection" properties for this device. By default, you are using the "physical driver". To change that and use a disk image, click on Use ISO Image.
- Click Browse, browse to the name of your .ISO file, and click Open.
- Now, click Connect at power on and OK.
The ISO should be placed under the Datastore where the Virtual Machines are stored. Once the ISO has been copied, edit the VM Configuration Settings and navigate to the path where the ISO is stored. Recommend instead mounting the ISO as a VM virtual CDROM directly instead of pointing to the ISO through the Shared Folder.
