How to slipstream SP3 into Office 2003

Before you begin anything, you'll need the following:

1. Microsoft Office 2003 CD or setup file.
2. Office 2003 Service Pack 3.
3. About 700 MB of free space on your hard disk.
4. A CD drive.

Slipstreaming SP3 into Office 2003

Installing Office 2003:
  1. Insert Office 2003 CD into your CD drive.
  2. Go to "Start" and select "Run". Now type "E:\setup.exe /a", where "E" is the drive letter of your CD drive.
  3. This will begin the Office 2003 installation procedure. It will ask you the product key. Enter the key provided to you and complete the installation procedure following the wizard.
  4. Finally you will find the entire Office 2003 CD is now copied to your hard drive.

Extract Office 2003 Service Pack 3 files:
  1. Go to "Office2003SP2-KB887616-FullFile-ENU.exe" file (Service Pack 3 file).
  2. Extract the .MSP files from SP3 with the help of WinZip or WinRAR.

Apply Service Pack 3 to Office 2003 installation files

Go to "Start", "Run" and enter the below command:

Code:
msiexec /p D:\tempSP3\MAINSP3.msp /a C:\Office2003\PRO11.MSI shortfilenames=true /qb
where,
D:\tempSP3 is the place where Service Pack 3 files where extracted and C:\Office2003 is the place where Office 2003 was installed.

Re: How to slipstream SP3 into Office 2003

Thanks for that information void. Well I am already using Office 2003 since 2 years but with SP2. I think I can still use your method to install the SP3 without reinstalling the Office 2003. I will give it a try and will update you if found any problem.
