How to use nslookup command under Windows Vista

I am currently on Windows Vista computer. I would like to know how to use nslookup command under Windows Vista. I usually uses this command under Windows XP and was easy to understand how it works but under Vista it is unknown. Can you help me to use nslookup command under Windows Vista?

Nslookup.exe is a command-line administrative tool for testing and troubleshooting DNS servers. This tool is installed along with the TCP/IP protocol through Control Panel. To use Nslookup.exe:
    • The TCP/IP protocol must be installed on the computer running Nslookup.exe
    • At least one DNS server must be specified when you run the IPCONFIG /ALL command from a command prompt.
    • Nslookup will always devolve the name from the current context. If you fail to fully qualify a name query (that is, use trailing dot), the query will be appended to the current context.
    • If you have implemented the use of the search list in the Domain Suffix Search Order defined on the DNS tab of the Microsoft TCP/IP Properties page, devolution will not occur. The query will be appended to the domain suffixes specified in the list. To avoid using the search list, always use a Fully Qualified Domain Name (that is, add the trailing dot to the name).

nslookup is a computer program used in Windows and Unix to query Domain Name System (DNS) servers to find DNS details, including IP addresses of a particular computer, MX records for a domain and the NS servers of a domain. The name nslookup means "name server lookup". The nslookup command queries your configured DNS server to discover the IP address.

It should work on your Vista computer. There is nothing like that Windows XP has but removed from Windows Vista. It is still present in Windows Vista and will work in the same way as you might had used under Windows XP. What error message are you getting?
