Couldn't install Microsoft office

I am currently using Dell Vostro 220s. I couldnt install Microsoft Office and Student 2007 in my new desktop. However, the cd is working just fine in other desktop. Is there anything wrong in the software?

Following are the steps to install individual 2007 Office features.

1. Exit all programs.
2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
4. Click Microsoft Office Edition 2007, and then click Change.
   
5. Note In this option, Edition represents the Microsoft Office edition that is installed on the computer.
6. In the Microsoft Office Edition 2007 dialog box, click Add or Remove Features, and then click Continue.
7. Expand the program that you want to customize, click the icon to the left of the feature name, and then click one of the following installation options, as appropriate:
   
   • To install a feature immediately, click Run from My Computer.
   • To install a feature and all its subfeatures immediately, click Run all from My Computer.
   • To install a feature when it is requested for the first time, click Installed on First Use.
   • To remove a feature, click Not Available.
8. Click Continue.

No, the problem is there isnt even any microsoft office in the desktop. I called Dell and it says I dont have any software support,etc . I dont quite comprehend actually.

No, i wanted to install microsoft office from the cd, but it could not run. I had try other ways but still it does not run at all.

Which Operating System you are using, Windows XP or Windows Vista? At the time of installing MS Office, do you get any error message? Have you tried installing some other programs on your dell machine?

Windows vista. it just does not run at all,no message or anything. No I have yet download anything.
