How Many .NET Versions do I need to Install ?

Hi,

I am installing Win XP SP3.

There are all kinds of .NET frame works like

V.2.0
V.2.0SP1
V.3.0
V.3.0SP1
V.3.5
V.3.5SP1

How many of above do I need to install ?

Can I just install V.3.5 SP1 ( Full Package 231.0 MB ) & it will take care of all previous versions ?

Also for Windows Installer 3.1 OR 4.5 ?

you'll need to install the latest Windows Installer first (good idea to install installer 4.5

then you just install .NET 3.5 SP1

But if we install 3.5 SP1 first, and then if we try to install an app that requires 2.0 framework, that app won't run. You'll need to install .NET 2.0.
