XP probs with partition

My PC would not boot, came up with a missing file error.
Could not find a fix on the net so I reinstalled XP into what was the recovery partition (H).
Now when I boot all my file are on (C) but I have to open the (C) to access them.
How do I get all my programs and files to show up when I click 'Start'.
When I click start, programs there is bugger all on the list, they all on the C drive.
It looks like it is opening H drive as the main partition.
How do I change them around.
