What is the maximum supported size of a truecrypt file

I am looking for free software to encrypt entire file system. The encryption must applied to entire file name and folder name. Any help will be extremely appreciated.

Re: What is the maximum supported size of a truecrypt file

TrueCrypt is a software system for establishing and maintaining an on-the-fly-encrypted volume (data storage device). On-the-fly encryption means that data is automatically encrypted or decrypted right before it is loaded or saved, without any user intervention. No data stored on an encrypted volume can be read (decrypted) without using the correct password/keyfile(s) or correct encryption keys. Entire file system is encrypted (e.g., file names, folder names, contents of every file, free space, meta data, etc).

Can anyone tell me What is the maximum possible file size of a TrueCrypt volume? Does TrueCrypt applies to both types of TrueCrypt volumes?

Re: What is the maximum supported size of a truecrypt file

The maximum possible size of a TrueCrypt volume is 8589934592 GB. However, due to security reasons, the maximum allowed volume size is 1 PB (1,048,576 GB), as the amount of data that is considered secure to be encrypted using a single key depends, among other factors, on the block size of the encryption algorithm. In addition, you need to take into account other limiting factors. For instance, file system constraints, limitations of the hardware connection standard and of the operating system, etc."
