Excel 2007 change Maximum no of Column

friends I would like to change Excel 2007 which will allows me to use more than the 256 columns currently showed as default. I understood in the Excel 2007 version the maximum columns is managed by memory of which I have heaps.so any of you guys thought about this

The total number of available columns in Excel Old value 2^8 New value 2^14. Total amount of PC memory that Excel can use
Old value of 1GB extended to Windows maximum. The total number of characters that can display in a cell is 32k rather than the previous value of 1k

Microsoft Excel has improved a lot with compared to oldies which allows you various option same time more user friendly environment the number of columns for 2007 is soared by a good value but make sure that whether your columns are hidden or not
Select all (Ctrl+A) Home tab>Cells>Format>Hide Un hide changing this will allow you to use this facility

Although it is increased from 255 to 32k the number of characters that can be stored and displayed in a cell formatted as Text but i can't see any improvement,i would still love my Excel 97. I installed good ol' Excel 97 the other day and this feature title appears on one of the install screens while installing.but am afraid of the were clipboard and round-tripping issues with the COM OM while with more than 255 bytes under certain circumstances.
