    PS3 Media Server for Mac

PS3 Media Server runs on your Mac as an DLNA compliant Upnp media server. You just share a folder (or more), and this folder you can browse on your PS3 - when you see a media file (e.g. MKV), just press play - and the media server will process real-time video transcoding via MEncoder to the PS3. This means the PS3 will play unsupported files. Even with external .srt / .sub subtitles.

PS3 Media Server is an excellent freeware to share your multimedia content from Windows, Mac and Linux consoles to the PS3 and XBOX 360 and not worry about formats supported natively. Specifically, you can create your DLNA UPNP media server and broadcast your movies, music, pictures, radio and TV in a few clicks. Without having to install codecs, the video and audio files are automatically transcoded in the right format and propelled in real time. Real nugget, this utility incorporates the best engines of the free world: MEncoder, TsMuxer, Mplayer, FFmpeg, VideoLan. Power-Users to give heart to joy because it is configurable in the extreme. It offers, among other encoding and streaming simple:
    • Video: MKV, FLV, Ogm, Avi, H264, Mpeg2, video_ts
    • Support for Subtitles.
    • Audio: OGG, FLAC, MPC, APE, MP3.
    • Images: JPG / PNG / GIF / TIFF
    • Audio and Video Podcast
    • Web TV and Radio.
