Have you tried reinstalling the excel 2002 setup again? Might be a dll issue of some file missing or corrupt?
Are you opening Excel 2003 document in Excel 2002?
Download this Excel Viewer 2003 and install it in your vista.
Open, view, and print Excel workbooks, even if you don't have Excel installed. This download is a replacement for Excel Viewer 97 and all previous Excel Viewer versions.

Can you provide more information about your issue, so that it would be easy to understand and are you having Office 2003 or Office 2002 install on your computer. Please make sure and hope your query gets solved as soon as possible
This is the problem with Microsoft Office products which I think can't be resolved. The only solution for this is either open your document in the compatibility mode or upgrade to a newer version (Office 2003 or 2007). I don't think there is some other solution to this problem. You can call this as one of the limitations of the Microsoft products.
Thank you everyone. To clarify, my home computer has excel 2002 (and runs on Vista), but my school computer has 2003 (and runs on XP). When I try to open an excel file at home that I created at school it crashes. I guess that it makes sense since it is an older version.
Raiz, I'll check out the link you provided and update the outcome. Thanks!
I guess that a solution might be to get excel 2003....
