How to Send a Message in Plain Text in Outlook

I have never used email clients before. I now feel that i will need to use Outlook as it is free and comes with Windows XP itself. I need email clients now because, i've shifted to some other place now and here the internet is quite unreliable. I gets disconnected without any prior warning. The rates of the internet are quite cheap so i have no worries. Well i just want to learn the basic. A friend of mine has already configured outlook for all my email accounts. I just want to know How to Send a Message in Plain Text in Outlook? Please help guys!

Do this :
Open Outlook
From the menu navigate to : Actions>New Mail Message Using>Plain Text
Now type the mail
When done click on Send.
Simple

Open regedit and see if the following key exists in your registry :
"HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Options\Mail!ReadAsPlain"
Make the value of this key 1. This should get your work done.
