Have you tried Unistalling and then reinstalling Tally or you can even try and turn the default companies to No in Tally.ini and then rewrite teh company using Ctrl + Alt + r. There is a setting that tells Tally to automatically load a company. Supposing the company file is corrupted, you might never start Tally. So disable it. The 'Tally.ini' file is in Tally directory.

Usually when you uninstall Tally it leaves the Tally Data folder in C drive. I am not sure about the new versions but in old it does not delete it. But when you run a fresh installation back again, it overwrites the existing files which led to lost of your data. So it is better to keep a backup of same always whenever you are planing to modify the installation of Tally.
