How to open PDF file downloaded from internet on window vista system

I am running Windows Vista Pro and Microsoft Internet Explorer. When I tried to open a file it comes up with this error message. Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Installed all updates. I have not been able to open .pdf file from my Mozilla(2.0.0.9) or internet explorer browser(say their is a link which has .pdf file it is not opening). What do I need to do to allow this form to open/download?

To have Acrobat .pdf files open in the same Internet Explorer window, use the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer. To open the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer, use either of the following methods:

    Method 1
Click Start, click Programs, and then click Internet Explorer (32-Bit).

    Method 2
Click Start, click Run, and then type the following command in the Open box, and then click OK:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\Iexplore.exe
Where C is the drive letter on which Internet Explorer is installed.

Try upgrading your adobe version ,remove pop up blocker go to tools > .internet options try connecting to adobe download help. Over time IE7 seems to set its own (or programs do) tick boxes in the advance tab. In IE7 Tools >Internet Options >Advance Tab Click Restore advance settings defaults button. Then scroll the listings down to near the bottom and Tick empty temp files when browser closes.

If the web browser isn't configured correctly with the Adobe PDF Browser plug-in, or if the web server on which the PDF file is stored can't serve the PDF file. This problem may manifest in a number of ways, including (but not limited to) the following behaviors:

    • A blank page in the web browser
    • A broken object link (for example, a red square, a blue triangle, or a blue circle)
    • A red X icon

The latest version of Acrobat or Adobe Reader may be more compatible with the operating system and drivers. Before you install an update or upgrade, make sure that the system meets the requirements. check here for more
