embed movies in powerpoint file

Hi Folks,

Yesterday my friend gave me a PPT file which embeds a quick time movie. It plays on Macs, sucks with my computer, unable to play the movie.any one know method to embed the movie in the PPT file
itself so that it is not necessary to move more than one file to show it on another computer..

any helps greatly received...

Powerpoint cannot embed movies/videos, they are always linked.
but If you put your video on the same folder as your.ppt file than power point able to locate it make sure you did not create a total path/folder length exceed 128 characters.

hello all
I genuinely inserted another movie and that one plays fine in the
..movie file, so I understand that it is a setting in the original .avi file
that is at fault. you are advised to Simply send the video file itself in the same directory and folder as the .ppt and the embedded video will be visible. but i was not able to play animated gifs in the movie.

If you trying to store the QuickTime movie on the server,always keep your PowerPoint file local. Keep the whole presentation on your server.

Me tried to transfer both the QuickTimes and the PowerPoints to and from the server.I need to have local copies to work on and use the server as a go-between to transfer everything.eventually saved the media files in a Disk Image,transfered it back and forth, PowerPoint seems to keep the proper file path.
