Re: PSD File Format

For your kind information the PSD file format contains graphics/photos created by image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop on your system. The PSD file format is popular as it can be read by Macintosh and Windows computers. Normally PSD files are shared by desktop publishers and image editors as in-progress graphics, and are not used as much for graphics distributed to end-users.

Re: PSD File Format

Its most commonly used professional image editing program which includes image layers, adjustment layers, layer masks, annotation notes, file information, keywords, and other Photoshop-specific elements. PSD files are generally a layered file that is proprietary to Adobe PhotoShop. However, this file format has become so popular over recent years, that many other graphic software programs (newer versions) have programmed their software to be compatible with this file format. Adobe PhotoShop is an expensive program, however, two programs that we know can open and edit PSD files which are less expensive and quite good are Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7+ and Ulead PhotoImpact 7+.

Re: PSD File Format

PSDs are useful in that they can enable the designer to change colors to an image, add image layers, or remove image layers. If Windows is unable to open files with the extension .PSD you may not have the appropriate program installed or, you might have registry errors on your pc. It is strongly recommend that you try to run any free registry scan on your system.
